Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that the approximately 135-kilometre-long Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway will play a crucial role in realising Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. In the coming years, it will emerge as a symbol of pride and identity for the National Capital Region (NCR).

He said that keeping in view the expected population growth by 2041 and future development requirements, the Haryana Government is planning to establish the Panchgram Development Authority for the development of five new cities on both sides of the KMP Expressway. The Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has also raised this ambitious project during a meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board.

Rao Narbir Singh said that the KMP Expressway is an invaluable asset of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC). To accelerate investment, employment generation and infrastructure development, the state government has introduced necessary amendments to its industrial policy.

The Minister recalled that the Chief Minister had announced the establishment of 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) by 2030. Of these, five IMTs have already received approval and are currently under development. Three of the proposed 10 IMTs will be developed along the KMP Expressway within the National Capital Region.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to industrial growth, he informed that the budget allocation for the Industries Department for the financial year 2026-27 has been increased from Rs.1,327.76 crore to Rs. 1,950.92 crore.

This substantial increase reflects the state government’s determination to take industrial development to new heights. Rao Narbir Singh further said that the five new cities proposed along the KMP Expressway will become major centres of attraction in a Viksit Bharat and will also help reduce the growing population and traffic pressure on Delhi.

The Industries Minister expressed confidence that with the development of 10 new IMTs, Haryana will emerge as the frontrunner of India’s next industrial revolution and strengthen its position as one of the country’s leading industrial destinations.
