Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources and Women and Child Development Minister, Shruti Choudhry said that the state government is committed to the prompt redressal of public grievances and is treating every issue concerning public welfare with utmost seriousness.

Smt. Shruti Choudhry was presiding over the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee held at the DRDA Hall in the District Development Building, Rohtak on Thursday.  A total of 12 complaints were taken up during the meeting, out of which eight were resolved on the spot, while directions were issued for further inquiry into the remaining cases.

While hearing the complaint of Manoj Kataria, the Minister directed the police to register a case against the concerned accused and carry out a detailed investigation. Regarding the complaint submitted by Ramesh and other residents of Baba Mastnath Nagar, she directed the officers of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam to resubmit the matter to the headquarters for reconsideration.

Hearing a complaint related to old-age pension, the Cabinet Minister directed the officers concerned to take the necessary action in the matter. She also directed the officers of the Irrigation Department to address the complaint of Shakti Singh, a resident of village Madina by opening the culvert on the Madina Link Drain and ensuring its cleaning. She informed that 90 per cent of the drain-cleaning work has already been completed.

While hearing the complaint submitted by residents of Farmana Badshahpur village, she said that the Additional Deputy Commissioner would investigate the matter and submit a report, and that action would be taken strictly in accordance with Panchayati Raj rules.

The Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, while hearing the complaint of Rajbir Malik, said that the state government has approved a project to lay a 4.5-kilometre pipeline in place of the existing water channel located on Sonipat Road. Addressing the complaint of Amit, a resident of Mokhra village, she assured that complete justice would be ensured in the matter.

Regarding the complaint submitted by residents of Ward No. 1, Kalanaur, she assured that the Public Works Department would soon take the necessary steps for the construction of a foot overbridge at the railway station. While hearing the complaint of Vinod Kumar of Katesra village, she directed officials to take the required action within a stipulated timeframe.

*DDMC Meeting Held; Development Proposals and Action Plan for 2026-27 Reviewed*

Following the grievances committee meeting, Smt. Shruti Choudhry also chaired the District Development and Monitoring Committee (DDMC) meeting and issued necessary directions to officers concerned.During the meeting the Minister reviewed development works undertaken under the District Plan during 2025-26 and deliberated on proposals and action plans for new development projects for the year 2026-27. 

Emphasis was laid on allocating funds for various development works keeping in view the needs of both rural and urban areas, while giving priority to projects related to public welfare.Discussion was also held regarding the proposals submitted by various departments and considered matters related to granting approvals for development works in accordance with the guidelines of the District Plan.

Rohtak MLA, Sh.  Bharat Bhushan Batra, Kalanaur MLA, Smt. Shakuntla Khatak, Meham MLA, Sh. Balram Dangi, Mayor. Sh.  Ramavtar Valmiki, Deputy Commissioner, Sh.  Sachin Gupta, Superintendent of Police, Sh.  Gaurav Rajpurohit and senior officers of various departments also remained present during the meeting.
