Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, today conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Yatri Niwas and Langar sites at Chanderkote to review preparations for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shokat Hayat Mattoo, Assistant Commissioner Development Sheraz Ahmed, DySP Waqar Ahmad, Executive Engineers of concerned departments and other district officers.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the arrangements being put in place by various departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage. He inspected key facilities, including power and lighting infrastructure, toilet blocks, medical facilities, drainage systems, drinking water supply and langar sites established for the pilgrims.

A detailed review of security arrangements was also undertaken. The DC inspected the proposed locations for installation of CCTV cameras and directional signages to strengthen surveillance, enhance safety measures and facilitate hassle-free movement of pilgrims during the Yatra period.

Emphasizing the importance of timely completion of all preparatory works, the DC directed the concerned departments to expedite pending works and ensure readiness well before the commencement of the pilgrimage. He stressed the need for proper drainage management, adequate sanitation facilities, uninterrupted water and power supply, installation of CCTV cameras at strategic locations and placement of informative signages for the convenience of devotees.

The Deputy Commissioner further urged all departments to work in close coordination and ensure that all essential facilities and services are made available in advance, enabling safe, smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience for the devotees undertaking Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.
