Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan today chaired a comprehensive review meeting in the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Complex, Nandani Hills to assess and streamline arrangements for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the preparedness of all concerned departments regarding facilities and services to be provided to the pilgrims. Detailed discussions were held on the availability of accommodation at lodgement centres, drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation and cleanliness measures, healthcare facilities, traffic regulation and overall pilgrim convenience.

The DC also reviewed the arrangements being put in place for RFID Registration and Verification Counters to ensure smooth processing and hassle-free movement of pilgrims. Emphasizing the significance of inter-departmental coordination, Ayushi Sudan directed all concerned officers to work in close coordination and ensure that all necessary arrangements are completed well in advance.

She stressed the need for maintaining high standards of service delivery to facilitate a safe, comfortable and seamless pilgrimage experience. The Deputy Commissioner further highlighted the importance of installing digital display screens, informative banners and directional signages at strategic locations to enhance information dissemination, guidance and feedback mechanisms during the Yatra period.

She instructed the concerned departments to remain proactive and responsive, ensuring prompt resolution of any issues that may arise during the conduct of the pilgrimage. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Champa Devi Thakur; Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Singh; Chief Medical Officer; Executive Engineers of various departments; Chief Education Officer; District Information Officer and other concerned officers.
