MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta, representing the Central Assembly constituency, today inaugurated the construction of streets in the Walled City. MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta stated that development work in the Walled City will continue at a rapid pace. He stated that the construction of roads and streets has been initiated upon the demand of traders in Katra Jaimal Singh, Shastri Market, and Guru Bazaar, the city's commercial hub.
He stated that when Aam Aadmi Party Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann are informed about any development project related to the Central Assembly constituency, the project is approved and funds are also released. He added that development work worth crores of rupees is already underway in the Walled City following the Punjab government's designation of the holy city for Amritsar.
MLA Dr. Gupta stated that development projects worth approximately ₹5 crore are being approved in the Walled City under the Rangla Punjab Development Project in the coming days. These projects will be initiated after the tender process.
He added that the development of the four most important radial roads leading to Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib and the kairo Market modern parking stand are progressing rapidly. He stated that both projects will be completed by October this year.
The completion of the kairo Market parking stand project will benefit the public and alleviate traffic problems. Councilor Jarnail Singh Dhot, business association officials, and prominent people from the area were present on the occasion.
