The University School of Agriculture Sciences at Rayat Bahra University organised the Second International Conference on “Advances in Agriculture Sciences (ICAAS–2026)” in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and the Microbiologists Society of India. Held in hybrid mode, the conference witnessed participation from over 250 delegates from India and abroad.

Welcoming the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Amita Mahajan, Dean, emphasized the importance of collaborative research. Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar highlighted agriculture’s crucial role in national development, while Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra motivated with his address.

Chief Guest Bal Mukand Sharma, Chairman, Punjab State Food Commission, delivered an engaging lecture on agribusiness entrepreneurship, drawing strong interest from students. Distinguished speakers included Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Dr. Ravneet Kaur, and Dr. Balbir Singh Khadda, who shared insights on emerging trends in agriculture science and technology. 

International speaker Dr. Subash Midha from New York University addressed the use of artificial intelligence in agriculture. The conference featured paper presentations, poster sessions, and project displays. 

It concluded with a valedictory function, awards, and a vote of thanks by Dr. K. S. Chandel, followed by a cultural programme.
