A Shaheed Volleyball Memorial Tournament was successfully organized at Rajpura in District Samba under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan, with a special tribute paid to martyrs from all forces, honoring their supreme sacrifice and inspiring youth towards nation-building and a drug-free society.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from players representing various North Indian states, including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and Haryana, making it a vibrant and competitive sporting event. Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Ramgarh and Former Minister, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
In his address, he emphasized the importance of sports in keeping youth away from drugs and guiding them towards discipline, fitness, and national pride. He also paid heartfelt homage to the martyrs of all forces, stating that such events serve as a reminder of their sacrifice and dedication to the nation.
Former BDC Chairman Radha Krishna also addressed the gathering and stressed the need for collective efforts to eliminate drug abuse from society while encouraging youth to participate actively in sports. Sushil Singh Charak, Chief Functionary of Nations Development Association, registered with NITI Aayog and affiliated with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under MY Bharat, highlighted the importance of spreading awareness about government schemes across District Samba and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The tournament was organized by Rishav Sharma, Vinod Choudhary, Bal Krishna, and Rohit. Prominent members present on the occasion included Subash Chander,Sanjay Sharma (President),Gandharab Singh Lamberdar, Shakti Pal, Sunil Kumar, Rinku Choudhary, Dheeraj Kumar, and Pankaj Kumar. The event concluded with a strong message of “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Sports,” along with a solemn remembrance of the brave martyrs of all forces.
