MLA of Amritsar East constituency, Mrs. Jeevanjot Kaur, today held a meeting at the District Administrative Complex to review the ongoing development works in the constituency. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Sh. Dalwinderjit Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sh. Bikramjit Singh Shergill, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sh. Rohit Gupta, SE Sh. Sandeep Singh, along with officials from the Improvement Trust, Public Works Department, PSPCL, and National Highways.
During the meeting, MLA Jeevanjot Kaur reviewed the progress of development works and directed the officials to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed within the stipulated time so that the public can benefit from them at the earliest. She specifically instructed that the sewerage and drinking water supply projects underway in Ward Nos.
21 and 28 of the East constituency be completed without any delay. She directed the Municipal Corporation officials to expedite the sewerage work at Daburji and to regularly share progress reports with her. She also emphasized that the cleaning of the dirty drain (nallah) in the East constituency should be completed before the onset of the monsoon season.
MLA Jeevanjot Kaur further directed that no development work in the East constituency should be initiated without bringing it to her notice, so that such projects can be implemented more effectively for public convenience. She also stressed the need to improve traffic management around the bus stand to avoid inconvenience to residents and commuters.
She reviewed the progress of development works in the Focal Point and City Centre areas as well. She instructed the officials of the Improvement Trust to ensure timely completion of projects under their jurisdiction.
In addition, she also reviewed the ongoing projects aimed at improving the infrastructure of government schools in the East constituency. During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Sh. Dalwinderjit Singh and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sh. Bikramjit Singh Shergill assured the MLA that all ongoing development works in the East constituency would be completed within the stipulated time.
They directed officials of various departments to personally monitor the works and ensure quality standards are maintained.
