Chandigarh Police Flags Off New Vehicles under the Theme “Guardians of the Road”

Shri H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS, Chief Secretary, U.T. Chandigarh, today flagged off 55 newly inducted vehicles of Chandigarh Police under the theme “Guardians of the Road” at Police Headquarters, Sector 9, Chandigarh. The fleet includes 25 TVS Apache motorcycles, 5 Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles, 20 Honda Activa scooters, 2 prison vans, 2 recovery vans (under-lift), and 1 platform recovery vehicle.

The event was attended by Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, Home Secretary, U.T. Chandigarh, and Sh. Pushpendra Kumar, IPS, Inspector General of Police, U.T. Chandigarh. Also present on the occasion were Sh. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, IPS, DIG, U.T. Chandigarh; Sh. Sumer Partap Singh, IPS, SSP (Security & Traffic); Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP, U.T. Chandigarh; Sh. Manjeet Sheoran, IPS; Ms. Geetanjali Khandewal, IPS; Ms. K.M. Priyanka, IPS; Sh. Anurag Daru, IPS; along with other senior officers of Chandigarh Police.

During the event, the newly procured vehicles were formally flagged off to enhance policing efficiency, emergency response, and mobility across the city. The induction of these vehicles is expected to significantly strengthen the operational capabilities of Chandigarh Police.

Addressing the media, the Chief Secretary appreciated the efforts of Chandigarh Police in modernizing its fleet and emphasized the importance of prompt response and effective policing in ensuring public safety. He stated that such initiatives would further strengthen law enforcement and improve citizen services.

The event concluded with the ceremonial flag-off, marking another step towards ensuring a safer and more secure Chandigarh.
