Haryana Cooperation Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma said that the life of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule is an inspiring example of moral courage, self-reflection, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of society. He worked to bring awareness in society through institutions and movements. Today, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi at the national level and Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini at state level are moving forward on the path shown by him, strengthening the idea of women empowerment.
The Minister said this while addressing a gathering during a programme held at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Chowk in Gohana on Saturday. He said that although Mahatma Jyotiba Phule was born into a humble family, the challenges he faced in his early life could not hinder his pursuit of education, courage, and dedication to society.
His life reflects that no matter how many difficulties arise, one must continue to strive for knowledge through hard work in order to find solutions. The Cabinet Minister emphasized that Phule believed knowledge is not the property of any one class but a power that should be shared among all.
He advocated opening schools for girls and the underprivileged at a time when a large section of society was deprived of education. The Minister added that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has been implementing his vision of education and women empowerment in the country over the past 11 years.
Today, through the National Education Policy, the Central and State BJP governments are creating a system that encourages youth to ask questions, learn new things, and engage in research. The life of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule continues to inspire society, conveying that only by following the path of education, equality, and social justice can the nation be made strong and prosperous, said Dr. Arvind Sharma.
On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister also gave a grant of Rs. 1 lakh from his discretionary fund for the beautification of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Chowk.
