As part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing efforts to establish high standards in education and to encourage students, Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal today felicitated Japneet Kaur, a bright student of Government Middle School, Arakwas, at Lehragaga. It is noteworthy that Japneet Kaur secured second position across the state by scoring 598 out of 600 marks in the Class 8 examinations conducted by the Punjab School Education Board, bringing pride to her school, parents, and the entire region.

On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister congratulated Japneet Kaur and stated that her achievement is not only the result of her hard work but also reflects the guidance and support of her parents and teachers. He said that the Punjab Government is making extensive efforts to improve infrastructure in government schools, including smart classrooms, modern laboratories, and other advanced facilities, thereby providing students with a high-quality learning environment.

Goyal further stated that special training programs are being conducted to continuously enhance the capabilities of teachers. Under these initiatives, teachers are being trained at premier institutions across the country and are also being sent abroad for advanced training, enabling them to adopt modern teaching techniques and gain global exposure.

He added that students of government schools are now excelling in every field and are even outperforming students from private schools, which clearly reflects the positive transformation in Punjab’s education system. The Minister also expressed happiness that Japneet Kaur is excelling not only in academics but also in sports, having secured third position in the 200-meter race at the National School Games.

He said that such talented students serve as an inspiration to others. The Cabinet Minister extended his best wishes to the family and encouraged them to achieve even greater success in the future.

During the event, the Minister also congratulated Japneet Kaur’s father, Kuldeep Singh, and mother, Jagdeep Kaur—both government teachers—and said that proper guidance and dedication from parents play a crucial role in a child’s success. Speaking on the occasion, Japneet Kaur credited her success to her hard work, her parents’ motivation, and the guidance of her teachers.

She said that the continuous support and proper direction provided by her teachers inspired her to achieve this milestone. Japneet also stated that government schools now offer better facilities, smart classrooms, and a high-quality educational environment, which greatly helps students progress.

On this occasion, Japneet Kaur’s sister Mannit Kaur, SDM Rakesh Prakash Garg, Municipal Council President Kanta Goyal, Advocate Gaurav Goyal, along with various dignitaries and a large number of local residents, were present.
