Continuing the series of development works in the Jandiala Guru constituency, Punjab’s Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO today inaugurated the construction of various interlocking streets and new roads in village Kohatwind Hinduan at a cost of ₹4 crore. Interacting with local residents on the occasion, Cabinet Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that under the Special Assistance Scheme Phase-1, these roads will be constructed from the 5054 funds.
The total length of these roads will be 10.59 kilometers. He further informed that the work has already been allotted to the concerned contractor, and a target of completing the project within 12 months has been set. The Cabinet Minister added that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is upgrading various roads in district Amritsar at a cost of ₹400.01 lakh.
He said that all link roads in the district will be upgraded within this year. He emphasized that the construction of these roads will provide significant relief to the public in transportation and help reduce road accidents. He also stated that instructions have been issued to the concerned officials to ensure timely completion of the project.
He further said that the Punjab Government is observing this year as a “Year of Development.”
