Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa today convened a meeting with officers of stakeholder departments to review the status and progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission schemes in the district. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Jugal Kishore; Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh and the Engineers from Jal Shakti Department.

At the outset, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department briefed the chair on the subdivision-wise status of the JJM schemes and the progress achieved so far. The DC inquired about the current status of JJM schemes, the number of schemes completed and commissioned, component-wise progress of civil works, extension of timelines for pending projects, status of uploading rural piped water supply schemes, division-wise progress of FHTCs and the status of forest clearance cases.

The DC emphasized the need to accelerate the pace of work under the mission to ensure that set targets are achieved within the stipulated timeframe. He directed the concerned officers to intensify monitoring of ongoing projects. The officers were further instructed to undertake regular field visits in their respective jurisdictions and monitor the progress of works on the ground level.
