Following the call of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, a massive press conference was organized today at the District Congress Office. During the event, Member of Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla, former Minister Dr. Rajkumar Verka, and former MLAs Sunil Datti, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Anil Joshi, along with District President Saurabh Mithu Madan, launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.

MP Aujla stated that the AAP government has merely created an illusion of development through expensive advertisements, while in reality, Punjab has plummeted into a vortex of debt and crime.

The Greatest Betrayal of Women

MP Aujla remarked that before the elections, the government promised ₹1,000 per month to every woman. He pointed out that the arrears for the past four years now total ₹48,000 per woman.

Taking a dig at the Chief Minister, he said, "Before making new promises, the CM should clear the pending ₹48,000 and apologize to the mothers and sisters of Punjab. Now, with elections approaching again, they have surfaced with another bag of false promises."

Hollow 'Model' of Education and Health

Speaking on education, Aujla noted that under the guise of 'Schools of Eminence,' existing schools (such as Mall Road and Chheharta schools) were merely repainted, and contracts were handed over to private companies. Many schools still lack permanent principals. Criticizing health services, he mentioned that while the government advertised 16 medical colleges, not a single foundation stone has been laid.

"When the CM falls ill, he visits Fortis (a private hospital). He should at least get one test done in an AAP-run government facility to check the reality," he challenged.

Punjab Heading Towards 'Jungle Raj'

Expressing grave concern over the state’s law and order, Congress leaders stated that the system has completely collapsed. Traders are openly receiving extortion calls, and those who refuse to pay are being targeted with gunfire.

People in villages no longer feel safe stepping out after sunset. Due to this insecurity, Punjab’s industry and investments are migrating to other states.

Corruption and Delhi’s Interference

The MP alleged that corruption in tehsils and police stations has increased tenfold. He claimed that Punjab’s funds are being squandered on advertisements given to outside firms. He further asserted that Punjab is being dictated by Delhi, with interference in every department preventing officials from working independently.

Congress: The Only Viable Alternative

In conclusion, he stated that while the Akali Dal and BJP are struggling with internal rifts, the Congress stands united. He appealed to the public to support the secular vision of the Congress to save Punjab.

He clarified that the entire party would work as one to ensure the victory of whoever receives the party ticket. Other dignitaries present included Councilors Narinder Singh Tung, Baldev Singh Sandhu, and others.
