Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) successfully organised the Inter Technology University Sports Association (ITUSA) Sports Tournaments 2025–26 in Chess, Lawn Tennis and Table Tennis (Men & Women) from 27th February to 1st March, 2026 at PEC campus under the aegis of Dean Students Affairs Dr. D.R. Prajapati, and Sports (O/I) Dr. Sandeep Harit and whole DSA Office. 

The inter-university event witnessed participation from prominent technical institutions including Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, National Institute of Technology Delhi, along with the host institution PEC Chandigarh.

In the Chess tournaments, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology emerged as winners in both the Boys’ and Girls’ categories. Punjab Engineering College secured the second position in both categories, while National Institute of Technology Delhi finished third in the Boys’ Chess event and National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra secured third position in the Girls’ Chess event.

In Table Tennis, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology claimed the first position in the Boys’ category, followed by Punjab Engineering College in second place and National Institute of Technology Delhi in third. In the Girls’ Table Tennis competition, Punjab Engineering College secured the top position, while Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology finished second.

The Lawn Tennis events also witnessed competitive matches across categories. In the Boys’ Lawn Tennis competition, Punjab Engineering College clinched the first position, followed by Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology in second place and Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar in third. In the Girls’ Lawn Tennis category, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology emerged winners, with Punjab Engineering College securing second position and Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar finishing third.

The consistent podium finishes across chess, table tennis, and lawn tennis highlight PEC’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent alongside academic excellence. The event successfully promoted inter-institutional camaraderie, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit among participating universities.
