Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, through its Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) programme under the Department of Production and Industrial Engineering, successfully hosted the PEC Art Exhibition 2026 on 26 February 2026 at the B.Des. Seminar Hall. Centered on the theme “Wellness Through Art”, the exhibition brought together creativity, expression, and emotional well-being, and was proudly sponsored by Artscapes.

The exhibition highlighted the transformative role of art in promoting mindfulness, emotional balance, and mental well-being. A diverse collection of artworks across multiple mediums was showcased, offering students and visitors a compelling visual narrative on healing, self-reflection, and creative expression. 

The platform enabled emerging designers and artists to present their creative explorations and perspectives on wellness through art. The event was graced by Mrs. Summit Sharma, President of Artscapes, as the Guest of Honour. 

A passionate advocate for art and culture, she also runs an art-focused NGO that actively supports young artists, community-based art initiatives, and creative outreach programs. Her presence and words underscored the importance of nurturing art as a means of social and personal well-being.

The Second Guest of Honour, Munish Jauhar, CEO of Grey Cell Technologies, Co-owner of AIM Gallery, and an angel investor, shared valuable insights at the exhibition. He was accompanied by Manish Gupta, President of Ecosystem and a proud PEC alumnus. 

Their interaction with students bridged the worlds of design, technology, entrepreneurship, and art, inspiring participants to think holistically about creative careers. The exhibition witnessed the presence of Prof. R. M. Belokar, (Head, PIED); Prof. Ravinderjit Singh Walia, (Head, Workshop and CoE Siemens); Prof. Rajesh Kumar Kanda, (Head, Alumni, Corporate and International Relations); Manish Gupta, (President of PECOSA); Dr. Mohit Tyagi; Dr. Jimmy Karloopia and Dr. Gurpreet Singh.

Adding further value to the event, Anurag Gupta, PEC alumnus and Founder of the Aashita Group, interacted with students and enlightened them with insights drawn from his professional journey, emphasizing the relevance of creativity, resilience, and innovation in real-world practice. The exhibition was organized under the guidance and support of Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, Director, PEC, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers and the design students for successfully curating a meaningful artistic platform. 

Dr. Shagun Sharma, Faculty Coordinator, along with Dr. Mohd. Tayyab and Dr. Sarvesh Tripathi, Co-coordinators, played a key role in the conceptualization, coordination, and smooth execution of the exhibition. Students, faculty members, and art enthusiasts attended the exhibition in large numbers, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. 

The showcased works spanned sketching, digital art, oil and acrylic painting, photography, fashion design, and innovative creations using best-out-of-waste concepts. The event encouraged thoughtful discussions on art as a medium of healing, connection, and self-expression.

The organizers expressed sincere gratitude to Artscapes for their generous support in promoting art and creative initiatives within academic settings. The PEC Art Exhibition 2026 reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nurturing creativity, innovation, and holistic well-being through artistic platforms.
