Shri Karamjit Singh Rintu, In-charge of the Amritsar North Assembly Constituency and Chairman, Amritsar Improvement Trust, today initiated multiple major development projects simultaneously across various areas of the constituency with the objective of ensuring holistic development and providing modern civic amenities to residents.

The projects include construction of streets, laying of new sewerage lines, and replacement of old drinking water pipelines to ensure the supply of clean and safe drinking water. In this regard, the construction work of streets and sewerage was formally inaugurated at Baba Deep Singh Avenue Panchayat.

Upon completion, residents will benefit from clean streets, improved drainage systems, and a healthier environment, leading to a significant improvement in their standard of living. Additionally, New Nehru Colony had been facing a serious issue of contaminated drinking water for a long time, causing considerable hardship to residents. Addressing this long-pending problem on a permanent basis, the work of replacing old and dilapidated water pipelines with new ones was commenced.

This initiative will ensure a regular and safe drinking water supply to the locality. Similarly, residents of Smile Enclave (Fatehgarh Churian Road) had been facing persistent sewer overflow and blockage problems due to a deteriorated sewerage system.

Taking serious note of the issue, the work of replacing the old sewer line and laying a new sewerage network across the entire colony was inaugurated. This will provide a permanent solution to the long-standing sewerage problems.

Furthermore, the work of laying a new sewerage pipeline in Ward No. 17, Greenland area, was also initiated. After completion, household sewer connections will be linked to the main sewerage system, thereby strengthening the drainage infrastructure and providing major relief to residents.

Upon completion of all these development works, the area will witness substantial improvement in sanitation, public health, and overall quality of life. Residents expressed their gratitude to Shri Karamjit Singh Rintu for initiating these much-needed projects.

On this occasion, Senior Deputy Mayor Mrs. Priyanka Sharma, Sarpanch Kulwinder Singh, Councillor Gulzar Bittu, Anek Singh, Panchayat members, and a large number of residents were present. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Karamjit Singh Rintu stated that expansion of basic civic amenities in every locality remains his foremost priority.

He reaffirmed his commitment towards comprehensive development of the constituency, strengthening sanitation infrastructure, and ensuring better civic facilities for the public, adding that development works will continue at the same pace in the future.
