MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta, representing the Central Assembly Constituency, today held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill, and officials from various departments to discuss all the problems facing the area. MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta stated that all problems in the Central Assembly Constituency are being addressed.
He stated that millions of people visit Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib daily to pay obeisance, which is why special attention should be paid to the sanitation and sewerage system in these areas. He added that a new company has been awarded the contract for the city's sanitation system.
The company has begun door-to-door garbage collection. To further improve this, the company will increase the number of vehicles and other machinery in the coming days. MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta also directed officials to install Super Sucker machines and ensure continuous desilting in areas experiencing sewerage problems in the Central Assembly constituency.
He stated that work is underway to increase the capacity of the Khaparkhedi Sewage Treatment Plant by 50 MLD. Sewerage Board officials stated that this project will be completed by June 2026, which will significantly address the sewerage problem in the Central Assembly constituency. MLA Dr. Gupta urged Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh to expedite the Rigo Bridge project.
He stated that an on-site review of the project would soon be conducted. The project should be completed by October 2026. MLA Dr. Gupta also discussed in detail the ongoing modern car parking stand project in kero Market.
MLA Dr. Gupta stated that the deadline for completing this project has already been extended. Corporation officials stated that the project will be dedicated to the public in June 2026. MLA Dr. Gupta urged that all development projects for which work orders are being issued in the Central Assembly constituency be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta, regarding the ancient women's hospital in Dhaba Khatika, suggested that this historic hospital be converted into a mini civil hospital. The Corporation Commissioner stated that a tender is being issued soon for all renovations to the hospital.
The hospital will be redesigned in the coming days. MLA Dr. Gupta also discussed in detail the problems faced by the Panchayats of Kirtan Garh, Mule Chakk, and Thande Pind, which fall within the Central Assembly constituency. He stated that these three panchayats are facing problems with drainage, sewerage, and other works.
The sarpanches of the three panchayats present on the spot shared their concerns. Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh stated that a separate meeting would be held to address the issues being faced by the panchayats.
