Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, convened a meeting of concerned officers today to review and finalize arrangements for the ensuing holy month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak across the district. During the meeting, the DC directed the Jal Shakti Department and KPDCL to ensure uninterrupted and hassle-free water and electricity supply throughout the month, with special focus on peak hours during Sehri and Iftar.

Emphasizing sanitation and proper lighting, the DC instructed Executive Officers of Municipal Committees to launch special cleanliness drives covering roads, lanes, drains, and marketplaces. He also directed regular lifting of waste and installation of additional streetlights wherever required.

To prevent profiteering and overcharging, the DC instructed for intensified market checking to monitor prices and take strict action against hoarding and unfair trade practices. He also reviewed the availability of mutton, poultry, LPG, and other essential commodities to ensure adequate supply during the holy month.

The meeting was attended by the ADC, ACR, ACD, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, R&B and KPDCL,  Tehsildars, ASP,  Executive Officers of Municipal Committees, officers from the Sheep Husbandry and Animal Husbandry Departments, besides representatives of Auqaf Committees.
