To review the progress of health card registration under the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme, Punjab’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh conducted a surprise visit to various areas of Patiala Rural constituency. During the visit, he inspected the health card registration camps being held in Ward Nos. 14, 16, 27, 29, Urban Estate Phase-1, villages Hardaspur, Chalela and Dandrala.

Dr. Balbir Singh took detailed information about the registration process, the functioning of the staff deployed on the spot, and the facilities being provided to the general public. He directed the officials to ensure that every citizen is issued a health card on time without any discrimination and that any kind of difficulty is resolved immediately.

The Health Minister said that the Chief Minister Health Scheme is an important and people-centric initiative of the Punjab Government, aimed at providing free and high-quality healthcare facilities to citizens of every section of society. Under this scheme, beneficiaries can avail free treatment in government and empanelled private hospitals through the health card.

Dr. Balbir Singh stated that the scheme is receiving an overwhelming response from the public and a large number of citizens are coming forward to get their health cards made. He said it is a matter of satisfaction for the government and the administration that common people are showing trust in government schemes and availing their benefits.

During the visit, the Health Minister also interacted with the people present on the spot and took their feedback. Many citizens described the registration process as easy and convenient and thanked the government. Dr. Balbir Singh instructed the officials to ensure a clean environment, seating arrangements and drinking water facilities at all camps.

The Health Minister said that the Punjab Government is committed to improving the health of the people on a priority basis and the Chief Minister Health Scheme will prove to be a milestone in this direction. On this occasion, Improvement Trust Chairman Harpal Singh Virk, Suresh Rai, village panch-sarpanches and a large number of local residents were present.
