Aam Aadmi Party’s State Chief Spokesperson, MLA and former Minister S. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the year-long celebrations being organised by the Punjab Government across various villages, cities and districts of Punjab, dedicated to the 650th Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji—the revered saint of the Bhakti era, a symbol of universal brotherhood and a great torchbearer of humanity—will formally commence tomorrow, February 6, with a state-level Prakash Utsav ceremony at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, the sacred place blessed by the holy feet of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, including Ganga (Amrit Kund) Sachkhand Tap Asthan and Minar-e-Begampura.

He said that Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann will attend the event and offer prayers for the peace, prosperity, communal harmony and progress of the state. S. Dhaliwal expressed these views while interacting with the media after paying obeisance and offering prayers for the welfare of all at the holy and historic site—Ganga (Amrit Kund) Sachkhand Tap Asthan and Minar-e-Begampura, Sri Khuralgarh Sahib—which is sanctified by the visit of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.

He said that the life of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji gives the message of humanity, equality and social unity, and that paying obeisance at this sacred place has given him a sense of divine peace. He added that the Punjab Government has completed all necessary preparations to ensure that the state-level Prakash Utsav ceremony being held tomorrow, February 6, is conducted in a successful, dignified and peaceful manner, so that devotees do not face any inconvenience.

Sharing details of the year-long programmes planned by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purab, S. Dhaliwal informed that a Guru Ravidas Bani Study Centre is being established at Dera Sachkhand Ballan. For this purpose, land worth ₹10.5 crore has been duly purchased and registered in the name of the Guru Ravidas Bani Study Centre.

He further stated that after the inauguration with the state-level event on February 6, dedicated programmes will be organised from February 27 until February next year. In the next phase, a grand Kirtan Darbar and Begampura programme will be organised at Khuralgarh Sahib in November 2026, with the participation of eminent religious personalities.

Additionally, programmes highlighting the life, teachings and travels of Guru Ravidas Ji will be organised across Punjab in villages, towns and cities, for which a detailed roadmap is being prepared. S. Dhaliwal said that in today’s times, when divisive and extremist forces are gaining ground, the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji—which rise above caste distinctions and advocate universal brotherhood and the welfare of humanity—are more relevant than ever.
