Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh today reviewed the ongoing registration process of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana at the Mohali Deputy Commissioner’s Office. Addressing officials, the Health Minister said that the flagship, citizen-oriented scheme is another major milestone of the Bhagwant Singh Mann Government, aimed at providing a complete health guarantee to the residents of Punjab.

He informed that more than 900 government and private hospitals have been empanelled under the scheme, covering nearly 2,300 medical packages, making it one of the most comprehensive and unique health schemes in the country. Dr Balbir Singh emphasized that all laboratory tests—from admission to procedures (including surgeries) and medicines—are covered under the scheme without any pre-conditions.

Deputy Commissioner Mohali, Komal Mittal, apprised the Health Minister of the progress of the registration drive, stating that 190 registration sites are currently operational across the district. These include 163 Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs/CSC Centres) and 27 special camps. She added that the locations of special camps are being adjusted as per duty assignments in different areas to ensure maximum outreach.

Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing registration process, the Health Minister directed the district administration to further expedite registrations so that the benefits of the Rs 10 lakh cashless Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana reach every eligible citizen and family. Dr Balbir Singh also cautioned officials against the emergence of fraudulent individuals posing as registration teams and charging money from innocent citizens. He directed strict legal action against anyone found indulging in such illegal practices.

The review meeting was attended by ADC (Development) Sonam Chaudhary, Civil Surgeon Dr Sangita Jain, CMFO Gurmeet Singh Sohi, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr Amandeep Kaur Warring, and Chairperson, District Planning Committee, Er. Prabhjot Kaur.
