Member of Parliament from Sangrur, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, along with OSD to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann, Sukhvir Singh, today inaugurated development works worth approximately ₹1.36 crore in Ward No. 21 of Dhuri city.

The projects include construction of nearly 3 kilometres of roads and installation of modern LED street lighting to enhance civic amenities and infrastructure in the area. Addressing the gathering, MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has accorded top priority to development from day one, resulting in visible and accelerated progress across the state over the last four years.

He said that the government has provided more than 61,000 government jobs, ensured canal water supply up to farmers’ fields, and closed 17 toll plazas, thereby relieving citizens of daily financial burdens. He further stated that crores of Rupees has been allocated for village roads, while hundreds of crores of rupees have been invested in strengthening school infrastructure to create a better learning environment for students.

Taking a dig at previous regimes, the MP said that while other political parties remained focused on preserving their political interests, the present government is fully committed to safeguarding Punjab’s future and driving holistic development. He asserted that the scale of development achieved by the Aam Aadmi Party government in the past four years far surpasses what was done during the previous 75 years.

On the occasion, CM’s OSD Sukhvir Singh said that block tiles are being laid on approximately 3 kilometres of roads in Ward No. 21 at a cost of around ₹80 lakh. He informed that the roads will be constructed with a width of 25 feet, ensuring smooth and safe movement within residential colonies.

He further said that 125 modern LED street lights are being installed at a cost of ₹55 lakh, which will significantly improve night-time visibility and strengthen public safety. He added that all development works are being executed at war footing to transform Dhuri into a model city.

During the visit, MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and OSD Sukhvir Singh also paid obeisance at Baba Bansri Wala Mandir and reviewed the ongoing development works being carried out at the site. Prominent among those present on the occasion were Chairman, Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation, Dalvir Singh Dhillon; Chairman, Market Committee Dhuri, Rajwant Singh Gulli; Chairman, Punjab Gau Seva Commission, Ashok Kumar Lakha; Member, Food Commission, Jasvir Singh Jassi Sekhon; Member, Punjab Waqf Board, Dr. Anwar Khan; Director Anil Mittal; Director, Sugarfed, Jaspal Singh Bhullar; along with Bhupinder Singh, Sukhvir Singh, Kulwant Singh, Gurjant Singh and a large number of party leaders and local residents.
