Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairperson Jasvir Singh Garhi on Tuesday emphasised the importance of embracing the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji to foster an ideal society.

Speaking at the 10th Sant Sammelan and Mass Marriage Function organised by Satguru Ravidass Dharam Samaj (Regd) Charitable Society in Ludhiana, Garhi described Sri Guru Ravidas Ji's life and philosophy as a guiding light for all humanity. He urged attendees to draw inspiration from the Guru's teachings and work relentlessly towards creating an egalitarian society.

Garhi highlighted how Guru Ravidas Ji's messages of compassion, love, and brotherhood continue to provide direction to society, encouraging collective efforts for human welfare. He noted that, according to the 2011 Census, India's Ravidassia community numbers around 6.25 crore, with Ludhiana district having approximately 30% Scheduled Caste population. 

He called for unity within the community to strengthen it further.Garhi stressed that the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, combined with the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, will guide Punjab towards a progressive and prosperous future. 

He also encouraged widespread dissemination of the Guru Ji' s teachings.The Chairperson praised the efforts of Satguru Ravidass Dharam Samaj (Regd) Charitable Society and its head, Anand Kishore, for their dedicated work towards the welfare of the Scheduled Caste community.
