Good Governance Week 2025 : Jatin Kishore chairs Public Outreach Program under ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ campaign at Lar block

As part of the ongoing Good Governance Week 2025 under the Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore campaign, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore today chaired a Public Outreach Programme at Lar block of the district to review public issues and grievances and to ensure timely delivery of government services.

A large number of residents from Lar, Waliwar, Chounth Waliwar, Chanthan, Gulabpora, Benhama and adjoining villages participated in the programme. Officers from all line departments were present on the occasion. During the public interaction, locals raised various issues pertaining to road connectivity, Lift Irrigation Schemes, borewells, power supply related issues, healthcare, education, door-to-door garbage collection, boarding and lodging facilities at KGBV, replacement of old electric poles and conductors, among others.

Officers and heads of departments present on the occasion responded to the queries and grievances pertaining to their respective departments. The DC emphasized the importance of taking governance to the grassroots through the “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” initiative, and addressed several grievances of local nature on the spot and issued directions to the concerned officers for time-bound resolution of the remaining issues.

The DC informed the public that issues that require action at the Level of the government would be taken up at the appropriate level and assured periodic review of cases already under process. Appreciating the active public participation, the DC emphasized that the administration remains committed to ensuring efficient, transparent and responsive governance along with improved service delivery.

Earlier, the DC planted a Deodar sapling under the Green J&K drive, reaffirming the administration’s commitment towards environmental sustainability alongside inclusive development. He also inspected departmental stalls set up by Revenue, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Social Welfare, Handicrafts & Handloom, Cooperatives, Education, and CSC/Khidmat Centres, among others. 

These stalls were established to provide on-the-spot services and disseminate information about various government schemes to the general public. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner distributed various  approval letters under the Animal Husbandry Department; certificates for various online Revenue services, cooperative registration certificates, fisheries equipment, certificates under ISSS and NSAP, sanction letters under HADP, JKCIP, Mission Yuva and JKREGP as well as sports kits among students.
