On the first day of his visit to Japan, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday paid floral tributes to father of nation- Mahatma Gandhi at Edogawa Gandhi Park in Tokyo. The Chief Minister said that Mahatma Gandhi was probably the only leader across the globe who won the battle of freedom through his ideology of non-violence. He said that every one of us, especially the youth, must come forward to perpetuate the life and philosophy of the father of the nation by imbibing the ethos of non-violence, harmony and peace in their lives. 

Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that the life, philosophy and sacrifice of Mahatma Gandhi will ever act as a lighthouse and continue to inspire us all for rendering selfless service to the community, society, state and the country. Exhorting the people to follow the philosophy of peace and non-violence as propounded by Gandhi ji, the Chief Minister said that it was imperative to carve out an egalitarian society. 

He said that Gandhi ji was a great statesman and a legendary personality who widely travelled across the world to propagate his philosophy of love, peace and non-violence. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the father of nation played a historic role in providing Independence to India b y transforming the freedom struggle into a mass movement.

The Chief Minister said that the people of the country will always be indebted to the iconic leader for his immense contribution in carving modern day India. He said that the entire world remembers and follows Gandhi ji’s message of truth, peace, love, friendship and non –violence. 

Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the world has recognized the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi adding that each one of us should follow the path shown by this great national leader.
