Chairman of Improvement Trust Amritsar and Aam Aadmi Party In-charge for Amritsar North, Karamjit Singh Rintu, today inaugurated the premix-laying work on the 27-feet wide road at Majitha Road. Rintu stated that the construction of this road will make the route leading to Baba Sri Chand Ji and Mahakali Mandir far more smooth and comfortable for commuters.
He added that residents of Ward No. 10 and 11 will get major relief from traffic congestion and will have access to better transportation facilities. He further informed that the renovation of all major and link roads across the Amritsar North Assembly segment is being carried out at a fast pace.
High-quality material is being used to ensure long-lasting and durable road surfaces. Rintu also emphasised that before starting any road work, the arrangements for sewerage and drinking water pipelines are thoroughly checked and repaired to avoid future issues.
He said that problems of local residents are heard daily both in the office and during field visits and are resolved on priority. His aim, he added, is to make Amritsar North one of the most developed and well-maintained constituencies in the region.
Welcoming the decision to declare three historic cities as ‘Sacred Cities’
Karamjit Singh Rintu warmly welcomed the historic decision of the Punjab Government to declare Sri Amritsar Sahib (Old Walled City), Talwandi Sabo, and Sri Anandpur Sahib as “Sacred Cities”. He said this decision will further strengthen Punjab’s spiritual heritage, cultural identity, and religious significance.
He added that this honour has been made possible by the grace and blessings of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, which is a matter of pride not only for the Sikh community but for humanity at large. Rintu expressed gratitude to Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Sh. Arvind Kejriwal Ji, Punjab In-charge Sh. Manish Sisodia Ji, and Chief Minister Sh. Bhagwant Singh Mann Ji for their visionary leadership behind this decision. Senior Deputy Mayor Priyanka Sharma, Ritesh Sharma, and other prominent residents of the area were also present on the occasion.
