The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shivraj V. Patil today administered the oath of office, secrecy and allegiance to Constitution of India to the newly appointed Chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Tejwant Singh Gill at a simple and brief but impressive ceremony held here at Punjab Raj Bhavan.Earlier, the Punjab Chief Secretary, Mr. Sarvesh Kaushal sought the permission of the Governor to start the oath taking ceremony. Soon after being sworn in, Lt. Gen. Gill signed the oath, which was counter-signed by the Governor.Meanwhile, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal also graced the occasion. Members of Punjab Cabinet and PPSC besides senior officers of civil and police administration were also present on the occasion.The family members, friends and well-wishers of Lt. Gen. Gill also attended the swearing-in-ceremony.
