Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Wednesday laid the foundation stones for four model playgrounds and one Health and Wellness Centre worth Rs 139.15 lakh under the Sahnewal assembly constituency. These projects have been initiated with the aim of strengthening sports infrastructure and delivering healthcare services to the doorsteps of the people.
The projects include a model playground at Mundian Khurd costing Rs 14.34 lakh, a model playground at Ballieawal costing Rs 36.18 lakh, a model playground at Jiunewal costing Rs 28.39 lakh, a Health and Wellness Centre (Dispensary) costing Rs 34 lakh, and a model playground at Kalas Kalan costing Rs 26.24 lakh. The total cost of these projects is Rs 139.15 lakh.
Mundian emphasized that the playgrounds will play a significant role in keeping youth away from drugs by providing them with proper spaces to engage in sports and constructive activities. He added that the government will ensure every village has a beautiful playground. He described the project as a gift to future generations from the Punjab Government.
