Terming the move to form Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Judicial Commission as a wrong step, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said that the Haryana government was meddling into the Sikh religious affairs since the matter lay sub judice in the apex court. While interacting with media persons on the second day of thanks giving tour in Talwandi Sabo Assembly Constituency, the Chief Minister said that the issue of separate committee was under judicial consideration in the Supreme Court and making any move to form Haryana Sikh Judicial Commission would not only be legally incorrect but also ethically wrong. He said that the Congress has always followed its age old policy to pide and rule wherein it has pided states and people and to rule over them. The Chief Minister said that Haryana’s CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda was taking such wrongful step on the behest of Congress high command to pide Sikh community in different states and taking decisions against them. Holding Congress responsible for hatching a conspiracy, Badal said that while the matter was sub judice in court, it was illegal to form the judicial commission and appoint office bearers of the same.

He added that the Hooda government was supporting that faction demanding separate committee whom Sikhs of Haryana have already rejected giving them a crushing defeat leading to even forfeiture of their security deposits during general elections of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

The Chief Minister today reiterated that SGPC represents Sikhs whose foundation has been laid on the sacrifices of thousands of Sikh martyrs. He added that in Maharashtra the ruling state Congress government has marginalized representation of SGPC in the Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib Board yielding to nefarious designs of the Congress high command and has given proof of being anti-Sikh. He added that by taking such decision, the Maharashtra government has tried to disrupt peace of Sikh community and this move cannot be considered morally, politically, religiously or legally justified.Taking up the issue of Georgia refusing visa to the Punjab farmers, Mr. Badal said that though such international issues were responsibility of the union government, he would urge the center to intervene in the issue so that the interests of Punjabi farmers, who have made agriculture investments in Georgia, were safeguarded.

Slamming state Congress over its allegations of emptying the state coffers, the Chief Minister said that except for making baseless statements Congress was left with nothing else to say. He said that during the SAD-BJP government’s regime the state has witnessed all round development and prosperity through implementation of pro-poor initiatives whereas Congress had formed government claiming to fight for the poor, but did nothing tangible for this underprivileged section of society. Mr. Badal categorically said that there was no paucity of funds for the development of the state and prosperity of its people and hence Congress should refrain from making such baseless statements just to score brownie points.

The Chief Minister today expressed gratitude to the people of Natheha, Nangla, Lehri, Singho, Behman Kaur Singh, Behman Jassa Singh, Gurusar, Fatehgarh Nauabad and Leleana villages for emerging Mr. Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu victorious from the constituency with a record margin. He listened to the grievances of the people and monitor progress of ongoing development works.Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Senior SAD leader and Rajya Sabha Member Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhunder, MLA Mr. Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, PUNSUP Chairman Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh, Akali leader Mr. Amarjit Singh Khana, former MLA Jagdeep Singh Nakkai, former Principal Secretary to CM Darbara Singh Guru besides Special Principal Secretary to CM Mr. KJS Cheema.
