MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta, MLA from the Central Assembly Constituency, today inaugurated the development work on four radial roads leading to Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib, a center of faith worldwide. MLA Dr. Gupta said that at a cost of approximately 41 crore, Mahan Singh Road, Sherwala Gate, Ghee Mandi, and Ramsar Road, leading to Sri Darbar Sahib, will be given a Heritage Street look.
He said that over 100,000 devotees from India and abroad travel daily through these four roads to pay obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib. MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta said that after giving these four radial roads a Heritage Street look, these roads will become a center of attraction for devotees.
He added that the width of these roads will be increased and no electricity or other wires will be visible above the roads. All the wires will be underground. He said that these four radial roads will be well-lit. He also said that paintings depicting Punjab's culture will be painted on all the buildings on both sides of these four roads.
MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta said that the four radial roads leading to Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib will be dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. He said that this project has been underway after hard work for the last two years. He thanked Aam Aadmi Party Convener Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia, and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for this.
He said that some obstacles were encountered during the tendering process, which AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal paid special attention to. He said that Arvind Kejriwal, Honorable Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, and a team of officials have been in constant communication with him regarding this project.
He said that the project is now being launched. He stated that this project will be completed within the next one and a half years. MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta stated that development work is progressing rapidly in the Central Assembly constituency. He stated that the government is committed to providing basic amenities to the people.
He added that work on road and lane construction has also been rapidly initiated. He stated that all major roads in the Central Assembly constituency have already been constructed, and work on the remaining roads has begun. MLA Dr. Gupta stated that work on the road from Gate Khazana to Jhabbal Railway Gate and from there to Ibban Kala will soon begin.
On this occasion, Mayor Jitendra Singh Moti Bhatia expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve Amritsar, the city founded by Guru Ram Das Ji. He added that today the four radial roads leading to Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib have been inaugurated. He said that MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta is working hard and leaving no stone unturned to improve the area around Sri Darbar Sahib. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party government, formed in Punjab with the slogan of change, is continuously doing excellent work. Mayor Moti Bhatia said that no previous government in Amritsar has done so much to provide facilities to the residents of the Gurudwara.
He said that work has been started to bioremediate millions of metric tons of garbage lying at the Bhagtawala garbage dump. He said that a new company has been contracted for the city's sanitation system. He said that within the next 20-25 days, the company will bring more than 300 vehicles to the city to improve the sanitation system.
