MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa today conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing road construction works under the Renovation of Link Roads Project across the Derabassi constituency, besides inaugurating several new road projects. The total cost of the ongoing and newly started works amounts to Rs 579.48 lakh, covering 11 roads with a combined length of 25.48 km.

During the inspection, the MLA issued strict instructions to the concerned officials and contractors not to compromise with the quality of work and to ensure that the construction is carried out as per the technical specifications laid down in the work orders. He emphasized that these works are being monitored regularly as per the directions of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, who has directed all MLAs to ensure quality and transparency in ongoing public works.

MLA Randhawa stated that these projects will give a significant boost to connectivity, trade, and rural development in the region, benefiting the residents of several villages under the Derabassi segment. The 11 roads being constructed or upgraded under the current development works include; Tofanpur to Mianpur including phirni (72.61 lakh), Lalru to Mianpur via Aganpur and Bhagwasi (97.08 lakh), Kurli to Sarsini (25.54 Lakh), missing link road Punsar (9.98 Lakh), Jastana khurd to Basauli (75.53 Lakh), Choundheri to Tofanpur (40.32 Lakh), Ambala Chandigarh road to Jarout via Batoli including phirni section Amb-Chd to Batoli (65.28 Lakh), Mirpur to Kasouli via Dhiremajra (79.72 Lakh), Ambala Chandigarh road to Lalru Mianpur road via Dappar Toganpur including phirni (section Mianpur road via Dappar, Toganpur, including phirni) (62.90 Lakh), Kasuli to Tasimbli via Basouli (39.00 Lakh) and RC road to Chatt Bari road to Nariangarh Jhughian (11.52 Lakh).

MLA Randhawa reiterated that the Bhagwant Singh Mann Government is fully committed to ensuring transparent and time-bound execution of all developmental works across Punjab. He also interacted with local residents and assured them that all roads would be completed in a stipulated timeframe with top-quality standards.
