A district level review meeting under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, to review the progress of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and analyze block-wise performance of NTEP activities across the district.

The meeting, conducted in online mode owing to ongoing Swasth Nari–Sashakt Pariwar Abhiyan (SN-SPA) and Nikshay Camps, was attended by the CMO Kupwara, BMO, and block-level NTEP staff.

District TB Officer presented detailed data highlighting achievements made under the programme as well as gaps and challenges requiring immediate attention. During the review, DC emphasized intensified active case finding in all panchayats with active involvement of MLHPs and ASHAs, besides strengthening surveillance and community awareness.

He directed health administrators to ensure accountability of doctors for timely referral of presumptive patients for NAAT-based TB testing and urged for collective efforts to overcome operational challenges in field implementation.

DC reiterated that consistent monitoring, block-wise progress analysis, and community participation are crucial for achieving the objectives of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. He called upon all stakeholders to work in a mission mode so that Kupwara district can move steadily towards the goal of a TB-Free district in line with the vision of ‘TB Mukt Bharat.’
