Due to the devastating flood in the Ravi River and the breach in the Dhussi Bundh, the first area to be hit by the floodwaters was the last village of Amritsar district under Ajnala constituency, “Ghohanewala.”

Former Cabinet Minister and current MLA Sardar Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal personally led the cleanliness drive of the local civil dispensary to restore basic health services. Keeping in mind health safety, he also carried out mosquito fogging himself using a fogging machine in the nearby village of Gaggad.

In response to concerns raised by flood victims about the high cost of potential medical treatment, Dhaliwal assured them that, first of all, he prays to the Almighty that no one from the Ajnala constituency suffers from any serious disease due to the flood. But if anyone does fall seriously ill, they will not face financial barriers for treatment in expensive private hospitals.

He announced that from *October 2, a formal **campaign will begin to provide free health insurance up to ₹10 lakh to every family in Punjab* – whether they are in private or government jobs, pensioners, income tax payers, wealthy individuals, or shopkeepers.

Under this campaign, insurance cards will be issued, giving *priority coverage to the 100 flood-affected villages in Ajnala* and the *2,303 villages across Punjab* identified as affected by floods.Former Minister Dhaliwal also assured that every flood-affected village is being strengthened from a health and safety perspective – *fogging has been initiated, and **medical camps are being regularly organized* for free treatment.

In emergency situations, *550 medical ambulances* have been deployed to transport patients to distant cities or metros for treatment. He further stated that *within the next 5 days, the target is to **clear villages, fields, canals, health dispensaries, schools, and other government buildings of debris and waste by September 24*.

While addressing and resolving the minor and major doubts of the flood victims, he clarified that under the leadership of *Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the **Aam Aadmi Party government* stands *strong like a rock with the flood victims* during this difficult time.

The state government is fully committed to providing *compensation for crop losses, damage to livestock, and destroyed homes, ensuring that even the **last affected person standing in line receives their due compensation.*
