Amid the ongoing heavy rain and flood situation in the district, Deputy Commissioner Sangrur, Mr. Rahul Chaba, convened a meeting with the Health Department, Indian Medical Association, NGOs, Chemist Association, and other key stakeholders to review preparedness measures for tackling possible post-flood challenges.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to safeguard public health in the aftermath of floods. He issued necessary instructions to all stakeholders to remain vigilant and extend timely support wherever required.
Mr. Chaba directed the Civil Surgeon, Sangrur, to ensure that an adequate stock of essential medicines is maintained to effectively deal with any potential outbreak of waterborne or vector-borne diseases. He further stressed that water sampling must be carried out in the affected areas to monitor quality and prevent the spread of infections.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that the district administration is fully committed to protecting the well-being of citizens and urged all departments and organizations to work in close coordination to mitigate risks in the post-flood situation.
