It is worth mentioning that many areas of Mukerian, Tanda, Chabbewal, Hoshiarpur and Hargobindpur are badly affected by the heavy rains and floods due to excess water released in small dams of the constituency. The cheque of the special fund of 50 Lakh has been issued to the Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Ashika Jain IAS, to assist with urgent rehabilitation efforts.

A major portion of the allocation will be directed towards the strengthening and repair of the Dhussi Dam embankment in the Mukerian assembly constituency and Kukran Dam in Chabbewal assembly constituency which has been severely damaged during the recent floods.

The immediate repair of Dhussi dam is critically important and will play a vital role in flood control and protecting nearby villages. Assistant Commissioner Oishee Mandal was also present at the occasion. The MP stated that this financial assistance is a part of his ongoing commitment to support the people of the region in times of crisis.
