Smt. Divya P, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Kharar, today visited Nijjer Chowk, Kharar, to review the ongoing road construction and storm water drainage works.Executive Officer, Kharar, Sukhdev Singh apprised the SDM that a tender worth Rs 209.57 lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of the road from Nijjer Chowk to Chajjumajra, out of which a work order amounting to Rs 74.57 lakh has already been issued and work is in progress. Alongside, storm water pipelines are also being laid from Nijjer Chowk to Bariali Nadi.
The SDM also inspected the Kharar–Landran Road to assess the situation arising due to water stagnation after recent rains. The Executive Officer apprised her that dewatering work is underway and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has assured that once the dewatering process is completed, the road will be restored to a motorable condition to provide relief to the residents.
