The Deputy Commissioner of Sangrur, Shri Rahul Chaba, reviewed the situation of the Ghaggar River in the Moonak area today. During his visit, he inspected the bridge over the Ghaggar River on the Makrour Sahib-Tohana Road and other areas along the river.

At present, the water level in the Ghaggar River at Khanouri is 744 feet, while the danger mark is 748 feet. The district administration is closely monitoring the situation and is fully prepared to deal with any eventuality. 

The administration is working in coordination with various departments and villagers to ensure that the situation is under control. The Deputy Commissioner stated that the district administration has prepared 35,000 bags of sand and is continuing to fill more bags. 

The administration has also made arrangements for iron nets to be used in case of an emergency. The Deputy Commissioner informed that control rooms have been set up in the district and a list of relief camps, communication plan, and hotspots has been prepared. 

The Chief Agriculture Officer and Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry have been instructed to make arrangements for green and dry fodder for animals. The Deputy Commissioner assured that the district administration is fully prepared to deal with any situation that may arise due to the flood and that the safety of the people is the top priority.

On this occasion, SDM Lehra Suba Singh, Mr. Buta Singh Executive Engineer Canal Department, Mr. Arvind Joshi Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Mr. Saurabh Sabharwal SHO along with officers of various departments were present.
