Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today chaired a meeting at Dak Bungalow Rajouri to review preparedness for Independence Day 2025 celebrations and the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign across the district.

The Deputy Commissioner issued directions to all concerned departments for timely and coordinated execution of responsibilities. He instructed the PWD to carry out ground levelling at the main venue, ensure matting arrangements for student performances and erect barricades for crowd control.

A joint inspection of the venue by the PWD, Police and PHE departments was also directed to address all logistical and safety requirements. He emphasised the importance of scrutinising proposed cultural performances to ensure they are respectful and inclusive, without offending sentiments of any religion, caste or community.

Committees including the Invitation Committee and Reception Committee were constituted to manage various aspects of the event and guest protocol. Preparations being undertaken by ADCs and SDMs in their respective jurisdictions were also reviewed, with instructions to ensure similar arrangements at the sub-divisional level.

The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign will be conducted in three distinct phases across the district. The DC directed all stakeholders to facilitate the mass hoisting of the Tricolour and illuminate towns, bridges and key marketplaces in the national colours.

He also instructed that Tiranga rallies be organised at prominent locations to inspire patriotic fervour and public participation. The meeting was attended by ADC Kalakote Tanvir Ahmed, ADC Kotranka Dilmir Chowdhary, ADC Rajouri Chander Prakash, ADC Sunderbani Ramkesh Sharma, ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa, SE PWD Tilak Raj, ACR Rajouri Mohd Jahangir Khan, SDM Thanamandi Abid Hussain, Additional SP Rajouri Bikram Kumar, ACD Auqil Naveed, Executive Engineer PDD Abdul Rasheed and representatives from the Army, CRPF, BRO and other district and sectoral officers.
