Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, on Saturday reviewed the final arrangements being put in place for the smooth and successful conduct of Independence Day 2025 celebrations across the district.
Meeting was briefed by the heads of various departments regarding the status of arrangements at the main venue in Bandipora, as well as at the sub-divisional, block, and institutional levels. He emphasized that all departments must ensure their assigned tasks are completed well ahead of time to facilitate the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
DC directed the concerned officers to ensure flawless arrangements in areas such as seating, stage setup, power supply, drinking water, sanitation, medical aid, traffic regulation, and overall security. Chief Medical Officer was instructed to ensure the presence of emergency medical teams at all venues, while the PHE Department was directed to ensure availability of safe drinking water.
Executive Engineer PDD Bandipora/Sumbal was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply and illumination of government buildings, bridges, and prominent locations in the district. Chief Education Officer was tasked with organizing cultural and patriotic programmes in educational institutions to encourage public and youth participation.
DC also laid stress on fostering a festive and patriotic atmosphere across Bandipora. He further directed all sectoral and district officers to make proper flag hoisting arrangements at their respective offices and ensure the illumination of buildings as part of the I-Day celebrations.
On the occasion, DC also took stock of the ongoing fortnight-long ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which commenced on Saturday, August 2, 2025. He informed that the campaign will be conducted in a phased manner, with a series of activities to be undertaken by different departments and citizens in the run-up to Independence Day.
DC also announced that a mega Tiranga Rally will be held on August 12, starting from the Mini Secretariat Bandipora and culminating at SK Stadium Bandipora. He appealed to the public, especially the youth, to actively participate and contribute to the success of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, calling it a celebration of unity, patriotism, and collective pride.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Zafar Husson Shawal; DPO, ACR, SDM Sumbal, SDM Gurez, ACD, DySP DAR, AD FCS&CA, ARTO, officers from the Army, CRPF and other concerned officials.
