District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya presided over a meeting to review implementation of the Protection of Civil Rights Act -1955 and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The meeting was also attended by SSP Jammu Joginder Singh; Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh; District Social Welfare Officer Nawaz Sharif; BDO Bhalwal and other committee members, R.K. Kalsotra, Keshav Chopra and Yashpal Shivgotra.
During the meeting, various cases pertaining to atrocities against SC/ST communities were thoroughly discussed and resolved on the spot by the Committee. The Committee also approved compensation for three cases under different clauses of the Act, ensuring timely support and relief to the affected persons.
The District Magistrate reiterated the administration’s commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of every citizen and directed officers to ensure effective and compassionate implementation of relevant laws.
