Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting here at Dak Bungalow to review the preparations for the Independence Day 2025 celebrations. The meeting was attended by key district officers and stakeholders to ensure timely, well-coordinated and dignified observance of the national event.
ADC Tahir Mustafa Malik gave a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation, outlining departmental responsibilities and the status of preparations. The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of all aspects related to the celebrations including security arrangements, venue decoration and seating plans, Public Address System, cultural programmes and media coverage, parade readiness and Shanai Vadan, fire safety protocols, barricading and traffic management, refreshments and hospitality, power and water supply, illumination of government buildings and cleanliness drives.
Special emphasis was laid on maintaining cleanliness around the venue, ensuring flawless parade rehearsals and a faultless public addressing system during the main event. The main function is scheduled to be held at Sports Stadium Poonch, where the Chief Guest will unfurl the National Flag and take the salute during a ceremonial march-past by various contingents.
In his concluding remarks, the Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to work in synergy and uphold the spirit of patriotism by ensuring that Independence Day 2025 is celebrated in a grand, smooth and inclusive manner.
