Cabinet Sub-Committee Meets Employee Unions of Municipal Corporations, Assures Prompt Resolution of Legitimate Demands

The Cabinet Sub-Committee, constituted to address the concerns of state government employees, held productive meetings today with employee unions of Municipal Corporations, engaging in comprehensive discussions regarding their demands and issues. 

The Sub-Committee directed the Local Government Department to expedite the submission of viable solutions to resolve the legitimate demands of the employees at the earliest. The meeting was chaired by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, who also serves as the Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee. 

He was joined by Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, former Minister and Hoshiarpur MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa, Former Minister and Kartarpur MLA Balkar Singh. Also in attendance were Additional Chief Secretary Local Government Tejveer Singh and Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur Commissioner Jyoti Bala Mattu. 

Representatives from the Punjab Safai Mazdoor Federation and the Municipal Mulazm Action Committee Punjab presented their demands during the session. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema inquired about the progress made by the Local Government Department in addressing the unions' concerns since their previous meeting. 

He reiterated the Punjab government's sympathetic consideration of their demands and assured the unions of a swift resolution. He said that the Punjab government is committed to ensuring the welfare of employees of its Municipal Corporations, and will continue to work towards a fair and timely resolution of their demands.

During the discussions, the Municipal Mulazm Action Committee Punjab was represented by Ramesh Kumar (Convenor), Kulwant Singh Saini (Patron), Gopal Thapar (Co-Convenor), and Ashok Tarwan (Co-Convenor). The Punjab Safai Mazdoor Federation was represented by Naresh Kumar (President), Juginderpal (Vice President), Gopal Krishan (Chairman), Rakesh, and Raj Hans.
