Proper planning , monitoring and motivation is vital for the success, said Minister for PWD (R&B) and Mechanical Engineering Abdul Majid Wani while addressing series of public meeting during his extensive visit of the far flung and hilly areas of Haanch, Ludna and Malna in Doda.Wani said that proper planning keeping in view the basic and ground realities, monitoring from the grass root level and feedback besides motivation of the masses and implementing agencies is imperative for the successful and fruitful implementation of benefit and welfare schemes. He said focused efforts should be made so that the benefits reach to the eligible beneficiaries within a time bound manner.Mr. Wani also revealed that to provide Electricity to the un-electrified villages in the District under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidhutiyakarn Yojna (RGGVY), 271 villages have been provided power supply under the 1st phase and more than 300   villages are in the pipeline under the RGGVY scheme.

Regarding road connectivity to the un-connected areas, he said that most of the rural areas of the District has been connected with the road connectivity while as the unconnected areas are being provided road connectivity. He said a massive network of roads has been constructed in the District to provide inter-habitation, inter-District and Inter-state connectivity.People also raised their burning demands on the occasion which include, Pending payment of wages under MGNREGA scheme, Improvement in Drinking water Distribution system, Augmentation of Power Distribution system, Sanctioning of Animal & Sheep Husbandry units in the area, Up-gradation of Schools, Deficiency of teaching staff in schools and payment of Land compensation of PMGSY roads among other demands were also raised by the people on the occasion.Minister assured the people that their genuine demands will be taken up with the concerned Department and the grievances are mitigated within the shortest possible time.Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) pision Doda Mr. Madan Lal, Executive Engineer PHE pision Doda, Tehsildar Gundna, BDO Gundna, besides other senior officer accompanied the Minister during the visit.
