An awareness programme was organised today under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan at the District Administrative Complex Samba. The event was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, who interacted with members of the tribal community from village Rakh Barotia, Block Vijaypur.
He emphasized the core objective of the campaign- envisaging door-to-door governance and empowerment of tribal communities. As part of the clean energy initiative, the Deputy Commissioner distributed 151 bio-gas cooking stoves to tribal families with the support of JAKEDA (J&K Energy Development Agency).
A large number of tribal members along with GM DIC, ACR Samba, Chief Planning Officer and other senior officers were present during the programme.
