Member Legislative Assembly Ramgarh Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal and Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma today reviewed the preparations for the annual Baba Chamliyal Mela, scheduled to be held on June 26 at the revered Baba Chamliyal shrine.
The arrangements discussed included security, traffic management, emergency services, provision of healthcare and lighting. The meeting decided to establish a control room to assist pilgrims and ensure interdepartmental coordination.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned departments to repair potholes on approach roads to avoid inconvenience to the devotees. The Police and Transport Departments were asked to identify parking spaces and install signage to guide the visiting pilgrims.
The Transport Department was also asked to ensure adequate transportation facilities for yatris. The PHE Department was directed to ensure an uninterrupted supply of drinking water, supplemented by additional tankers, while the PDD was asked to ensure constant power supply.
The Tourism Department was asked to install informative hoardings and banners to guide and inform visitors. A monitoring committee was constituted to oversee the quality and pricing of food items.
The meeting was attended by SSP Samba, GM DIC, XENs of various departments, SDM, Tehsildar, officials from the civil administration and local representatives.
