The Aam Aadmi Party’s momentum in the Ludhiana West by-election continues to grow, while Congress and Akali Dal face major setbacks. On Monday, over 100 people associated with these traditional parties joined AAP.
Former Akali Dal councillor Sukhwinder Kaur, along with her associates Nirmal Singh, Harkirat Singh, Gurlal Singh, Dilbagh Singh, Sarabjot Singh, Jawanpreet Singh, Anshpreet Singh, Harmandeep Singh, Satvir Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Shatiri Singh, Karan, Amandeep Singh, Jassa, Princejot, Ramandeep, Harry, Prabhjot, Abhijot, Harshdeep, Roshan, Satyam Kukkar, Anmol, Amanpreet Singh, Baldev Singh, Nishan Singh, Vijay Kumar, and Sukhjinder Singh, joined AAP.
In addition, Vishal Batra from Ward No. 62, who had previously left AAP, rejoined the party. He was accompanied by Rohit, Niranjan, Rahul, Anu Sareen, Karan Chandla, Ravi Kaushal, Manjeet, Nishant Bhandari, Vicky Dhaliwal, Neeraj Kumar, Sachin Batra, Vaibhav Kumar, Saurdeep Miglani, Jaswant Singh Batola, Raghubir, Ravi Kaushal, Naresh Khara, Vikramjit Jassal, Amarjeet Jassal, Sonu Kumar, Baldev Singh, Kulwant Singh, Gurpreet Lucky, Vicky Lahot, Rakesh Kumar, Shoorveer Singh, Ravinder Kumar, Rajeev Jain, Tajinder Ahuja, and Shammi Hansa.
Prominent leaders who joined AAP included Daniel Khukr, Anita Shah, Dr. Gulshan Peter, Nidhi Bhandari, Luke James (Ashwani), Nathi Ram, Pastor Vinod Kumar, Pastor Victor James, Sylvester Shah, Kapil Kumar, Vipin, Pastor Preeti James, William Masih, Uday Tandon, and Rinku Kumar.AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, along with Cabinet Minister Harjot Bains and AAP Punjab General Secretary Dr. Sunny Ahluwalia and Harchand Singh Barsat, welcomed all these individuals into the party.
Those joining AAP stated that they were influenced by the works of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the pro-people policies of AAP. They highlighted that over the past three years, their electricity bills have been zero, providing them with significant financial relief. Additionally, the improvement in government schools and hospitals has reduced their financial burdens substantially.
Welcoming the new members, Aman Arora said that the Aam Aadmi Party’s policies and the performance of the AAP government over the last three years have inspired hundreds of people to join the party daily, thereby strengthening it at the grassroots level in Punjab.
Harjot Bains remarked that the people of Ludhiana West have already decided to elect AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora. He stated that their focus now is on increasing the margin of victory. There is no doubt about Sanjeev Arora’s resounding victory. Congress and BJP, he added, are merely competing for second place.
