NIA Panchkula Organizes Successful Walkathon as Part of International Yoga Day Celebrations

On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2025, the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Panchkula organized a walkathon today at Yavanika Park, Sector-5, Panchkula. The event was held under the guidance of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Professor Sanjeev Sharma.

The walkathon took place from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, students, officials, and staff members. The event was flagged off by the Chief Guest, SDM Shri Chandrakant Kataria.

Distinguished guests included Prof. Sanjeev Sharma (Vice Chancellor), Dr. Shailja Chhabra (Principal, P.G. Government College, Sector 1, Panchkula), and Chief Executive Engineer Shri Virendra Singh.The Dean In-charge of the institute, Professor Satish Gandharve, Dr. Gaurav Garg (DMS Coordinator), officials, and staff members actively participated in the event.

Assistant Professor Dr. Ritesh efficiently handled the stage proceedings and the programme was led by Walkathon committee. In their addresses, the Chief Guest and the Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life. They highlighted that regular yoga practice leads to a stress-free life and is essential for both mental and physical well-being.

Around 350 participants from the institute took part in the walkathon. Refreshments were provided by JRK Pharmaceuticals and caps were distributed by kottekal Pharmaceuticals.The event aimed to raise awareness about yoga and Ayurveda in society and to encourage citizens to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The event was successfully organized by the Walkathon Committee.
