In line its' commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and empowering ecosystem for womenfolk in Punjab, Punjab State Commission for Women, in collaboration with MSME PCI Punjab, today, launched the EmpowerHER Punjab initiative aimed at transforming the landscape for women and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the state.

Divulging the details, Chairperson Raj Lalli Gill said that this initiative marks a significant partnership between the Commission and MSME PCI Punjab to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and Self Help Group empowerment. Listing the key objectives of EmpowerHER Punjab, Chairperson Mrs Gill said that the joint initiative is aimed at raising awareness on health, mental well-being, and social leadership among women. 

Similarly, strengthening support systems for SHGs through capacity building and access to resources and promoting participation of women in economic activities and policy implementation will also be the part of the collaboration. She further said that besides disseminating information about government schemes, micro-enterprise development and financial inclusion, this initiative will also feature engaging sessions such as exhibitions, skill demonstrations, and awareness drives to connect women with opportunities for growth.

Punjab State Commission for Women, Chairperson added that mainly the initiative will be helpful for the Self Help Groups to get a platform for marketing, skill enhancement, funding, raw material, technological upgradation and exhibitions etc to envision the concept of Rangla Punjab. She said that today was just a start of the ongoing efforts to uplift the womenfolk with the understanding of this novel initiative and soon all the required formalities and modalities will be completed through the Rural Development and Panchayat Department to make it beneficial for all the Self Help Groups working across the state. 

On this occassion, Mrs Pooja Dhunna, Chairperson, MSME PCI Punjab chapter was also present who assured the Chairperson Raj Lalli Gill of strengthening women's entrepreneurship through mindset transformation, mobilization of Self Help Groups (SHGs), skill development and enhanced access to CSR and government support systems across Punjab.
