District Development Commissioner (DDC) Harvinder Singh convened a review meeting today in the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex to assess the progress and future plans of the Rural Development Department (RDD) for the financial year 2025-26.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Commissioner Development Manoj Kumar; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Musharraf Ali Haf; Chief Planning Officer Manesh Manhas; Block Development Officers (All); Assistant Executive Engineers (All) of the District.

Assistant Commissioner Development and Assistant Commissioner Panchayat presented detailed presentations on the ongoing schemes (MGNREGA, PMAY -G, SBM-G) highlighting their achievements and challenges faced in the execution.

 Reviewing the scheme wise performance, the DDC emphasized the importance of timeline implementation of Rural Development programs especially Rural Sanitation initiatives aimed at improving the cleanliness in the District and thereby improving living standard of the public.

Discussions covered crucial areas such as infrastructure development for Plastic Waste Management System, Solid Waste Management System (SWMS), CSC, Goverdhan Plants, Segregation Sheds, Soakage pits under SBM-G; Employment generation under MGNREGA. Emphasis was laid on Own Source Revenue (OSR) generation to make all Panchayats Self Sustainable. 

The Chair directed the BDOs to collaborate with the concerned Departments to address bottlenecks hindering progress. They were further directed to prepare innovative plans under Aspirational Block/Panchayat Development Plans and to complete Estimation on SECURE and start execution of works under MGNREGA for the FY 2025-26.

The Chair emphasised the completion of all pending houses under PMAY-G and to expedite recovery proceedings from the defaulters. Furthermore, the DDC outlined new initiatives promoting sustainable development and enhancing agricultural productivity, emphasizing the use of technology and innovative practices.
